Singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright has announced the release of his seventh album.
The album, titled Out of the Game, will feature numerous guests including Wilco, Sean Lennon, Nick Zinner, his sister Martha Wainwright, and more.
The seemingly always-working Mark Ronson will produce Out of the Game. Although it is a pairing that many might not have expected, Mark Ronson is not a stranger to working with pop artists. He is perhaps best known for producing the extremely successful Back to Black by Amy Winehouse. In 2011, he helped produce All You Need is Now by Duran Duran.
Wainwright spoke with Rolling Stone about his goals for the new album, saying, “The main objective – not for the entire [album], necessarily, but for portions of it – is to be danceable. I just want to make something that you love, driving around in your car listening or losing your mind to on a dance floor.”
Expect memory loss and sore feet May 2nd, as Out of the Game will be released May 1st through Decca Records. Check out the track list below.
