T.I. has been hard at work since his release from prison this past August after serving 10 months for a parole violation. The Atlanta rapper released his first novel, Power & Beauty last month and is gearing up for the debut of his VH1 reality show, The Family Hustle on December 5th. Channeling the focus back to music, T.I.P. stopped in at Billboard this past week to discuss the development of his eighth studio album, TM2 – Trap Muzik 2: Trouble Man, with Erika Ramirez of The Juice.
“This is the first project where I’m talking about things that I’ve experienced before that I’m not necessarily experiencing now cause I’m not doing a whole lot of partying. I do a little bit but not alot… nothing like when I was in that life,” The King of the South says about his newest project.
“I’ll let you listen and you can tell me if I’m on the right track,” T.I. continued to say during his visit at Billboard. He also gave present there a listen to a new song that “could be dropping as soon as Monday” (Nov. 21).”
Back in September, T.I. released the album’s first promotional single, “I’m Flexin’ with Big K.R.I.T. and followed up with the Pharrell assisted, “Here Ye, Hear Ye” in October. TM2 – Trap Muzik 2: Trouble Man is expected to be released in February of 2012, but until then, T.I. is still expected to remain hard at work.
“Everywhere he goes, he stops through the studio,” said T.I.’s assistant.
