The Shins’ James Mercer stopped by a San Diego radio station to play an acoustic set, including a track off the new album from The Shins, Port of Morrow.
91X hosted Mercer’s four song jam with “It’s Only Life” and “Simple Song” off the to-be released record, Port of Morrow. The other tunes were the iconic Shin’s songs “Young Pilgrims” and “New Slang.”
Port of Morrow will be released on March 20,2012 via Columbia and James Mercer’s Aural Apothecary. Port of Morrow is the first album in five years from The Shins, following Wincing the Night Away from 2007.
The Shins start their U.S. tour in April right after the last leg of their European tour which includes stops at Coachella and Sasquatch! Music Festival.
