written by: on October 14, 2011

Billy Corgan, the Smashing Pumpkins frontman, started a professional wrestling company earlier this year and is now ready to host its first event on November 25.

Resistance Pro Wrestling‘s black Friday event will be held at Excalibur in Chicago, costs $20 per ticket and is a 21 and older show.

In an interview on Thursday, Corgan told Fox News Chicago that he has been involved with the professional wrestling industry for 10 years, and he hopes to “bring back to Chicago the glory days” of wrestling.

Corgan, as creative director for Resistance Pro, said that, like the music industry, Chicago has a rich history of professional wrestling.

Meanwhile, Corgan’s band The Smashing Pumpkins is on tour and waiting to drop a new album, Oceania. We’ll let you know when they confirm a release date.

Smashing Pumpkins will be performing tonight at The Riviera Theater in Chicago.
