Grammy-winning hip-hop artist Common pushed the release date for his ninth album titled The Dreamer, The Believer from November 22 to December 20.
During a Saturday morning interview with 1045 SNX, a West Michigan radio station, Common said he wanted to give the album the right amount of “preparation time.”
“We’re really charged about it, it’s looking really good right now,” said Common, who went on to mention the first single off The Dreamer, The Believer, “Blue Sky” has already dropped.
The hip-hop artist said he will soon be working collaboratively with Nas following the release of Nas’ next album. Common, a Chicago South Side native, also confirmed his presence on an upcoming compilation released by Kanye West’s label G.O.O.D. Music.
Common released his first album Can I Borrow a Dollar? in 1992 on Relativity Records. The rapper’s eighth and latest album Universal Mind Control dropped in 2008 and topped Billboard’s Top Rap Albums at No. 1.
In other Common news, the rapper-turned-actor recently appeared in the 10-episode AMC show Hell On Wheels, a Civil War-era drama. Common plays a freed slave named Elam, who works on the Transcontinental Railroad.
