Morrissey Makes Chicago Sad by Cancelling Show

written by: on November 8, 2011

Don’t get too down on yourself Morrissey fans. It’s not your fault that Morrissey had to cancel the sold-out November 10, 2011 date in Chicago at the Congress Theatre has been postponed until December 17, 2011. Other dates are not affected.

The explanation for Morrissey’s cancellation is an easy one as well as a complicated one. It’s not meat related but visa related. According to the press release, “due to a visa administration error, Morrissey’s lead guitarist is unable to perform in the US this week.”

Sadly, visa issues are an all too common enemy to bands traveling overseas to play (and spend) money in America. Read Stache’s own Pop Vicious feature about one band’s plight to play shows in America and the larger issue of getting a Visa in America.
