Mr Gnome takes it up a notch!

Cleveland‘s premier indie rockers, Mr Gnome, captivated a packed house at the Beat Kitchen on December 14th.  [click here to see all of the photos from that night]

The husband-wife duo performed so flawlessly it was hard to believe that this was the same band I’d seen just a year and a half earlier.  Seeing them perform during the summer of 2012 at Schubas certainly placed them permanently on my radar, but I want whatever they’ve been drinking since then, because in that short time they took a well developed sound that they’d been building on and really drove it home in performance at the Beat Kitchen.  Possibly one of the most all-consuming performances I’ve seen all year!

Nicole Barille and Sam Meister are two of the midwest’s most creative multi-disciplined artists.  A little over a year ago they wrote, directed, and executed a beautiful 8 minute short film which doubles as their music video for “House of Circles,” which premiered on NPR’s blog “All Songs Considered.”  The duo reeled in the support of family members and friends to execute this project on a tiny budget!  They are the type of band that doesn’t bother including a “bio” or “about” page on their website, but they let every song, photo, or in this case, video tell their story!  Take a look!
