From releasing two great mixtapes, to giving an amazingly subversive interview with the New York Times, to getting deported from England, to running around Brooklyn and causing a ruckus all over the internet, Das Racist have maybe been the busiest stoners ever in 2010. So now it is time for you to do some work for them.
The group have announced a contest asking people to remix “Hahahaha JK?” a standout jam from the second of their two releases this year, Sit Down, Man. The original track has a great Boi 1da-produced beat composed of the theme to “Days of Our Lives,” which in itself is maybe a joke, maybe not? Plus, you’ve got great and clever lyrics to work with – about Four Lokos, Rockfort tees, Dwight Schrute and a few bars where Heems and Victor are just listing snack foods.
The winner will receive “a t-shirt, signed CD, bag of weed (half kidding) and a feature on the band’s website.” JK? Internet fame is sure to follow. Check out the submissions below, then get to work. Submissions are due January 18.
