Up Late Watching Jane’s Addiction, Primus and Beirut

written by: on October 25, 2011

Those burning the midnight oil on October 24 had a trifecta of musical performances on late night television to enjoy. Jane’s Addiction, Beirut, and Primus all stopped by studios to jam out and showcase some new tunes.

Jane’s Addiction returned to The Late Show with David Letterman and played a new song “Underground.” The track is from their latest album The Great Escape Artist. Jane’s Addiction’s upbeat song was accompanied by hyper strobe lights and a duo of dancing ladies.

On Jimmy Kimmel Live! Primus gave fans two brand new songs called “Lee Van Cleef” and “Jilly’s On Smack.” The tracks are from the trio’s latest album Green Naugahyde. This  album was released on September 12, 2011 and was their first album in over a decade.

Beirut played “Santa Fe” for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. The song is a cheerful blend of Zach Condon’s unmistakable voice, horns, accordions, and more. “Santa Fe” is from the group’s most recent album The Rip Tide. We at Popstache loved The Rip Tide, giving it four out of five ‘staches.
