Radiohead Performs on Saturday Night Live, Sells Out Two NYC Shows

written by: on September 26, 2011

Radiohead kicked off the 37th season of Saturday Night Live as the show’s musical guest over the weekend.

The band performed their maraca-filled jam “Lotus Flower,” off its eighth studio album King of Limbs released back in February.

The England-based indie-rock quintet also played a technically unreleased track called “Staircase,” but we’re confident you can find an earlier version somewhere.

And in other Radiohead news, tickets for two upcoming New York shows, September 28th and 29th, sold out within minutes, according to the Wall Street Journal. Frustrated fans who preemptively placed tickets for the shows into their shopping carts woke up to a surprise this morning when they got an error message from Ticketmaster just before clicking the “buy tickets” button.

But fear not fans of Radiohead.

As if Saturday night’s nationally televised exposure wasn’t enough, Thom Yorke and Company will be performing on tonight’s hour-long episode of The Colbert Report on Comedy Central.
