Grinderman calls it quits.

Nick Cave Says Grinderman is Done

written by: on December 12, 2011

Speaking at the end of Grinderman’s performance at an Australian music festival this weekend, Nick Cave said the band is calling it quits.

As the Nick Cave and the Bad Seed’s side project finished up its set at the Meredith Music Festival, Cave said “That’s it for Grinderman. It’s over,” according to Australia’s The Vine. The gravel-voiced singer then added “See you all in another ten years when we’ll be even older and uglier.”

Though no official statement from the band has been released and the band’s website has not been updated, no further tour dates have been listed for this year.

Grinderman has released two albums, 2007’s Grinderman and 2010’s cleverly titled Grinderman 2, after forming in 2006. The band was made up of Bad Seeds alum including Warren Ellis on violin, Martyn Casey on bass, and Jim Sclavunous on Drums.
