Cat Power has released a new video for her track “King Rides By.”
The video shows professional boxer Emmanuel Pacquiao pummeling a speed bag nonstop for more than six minutes; meanwhile, Cat Power sings of fading love over the bluesy track.
Those who choose to shell out the 99 cents for downloading “King Rides By” will benefit The Festival of Children, a children-focused charity, and The Ali Forney Center, which provides housing for LGBT youth who are facing rejection from their families.
The track can be downloaded from Cat Power’s website, catpowermusic.com. Donaters will have the opportunity to appear among other contributors on the lower part of the singer’s website.
Along with foreshadowing her charitable tune, Cat Power recently stated on Twitter that she is almost finished with her follow-up to 2008’s Jukebox. Although the exact release date is unknown, “King Rides By” should hold fans over for at least a little while.
