Jack White and Tom Jones Join Forces

written by: on January 6, 2012

White’s label Third Man Records plans to add Tom Jones to its continuing Blue Series.

The Blue Series is an ongoing recording session featuring various artists traveling through Nashville. Jack White produces the songs, which are then pressed to vinyl and also made available through itunes.

Tom Jones rerecorded the tune “Jezebel” that was featured on his 2002 album Mr. Jones, and appearing on the B-side will be a cover of Howlin’ Wolf’s “Evil”.

While no set date for the vinyl has been announced, White spoke highly of the singer’s performance saying “He impressed the shit out of everybody.”

As strange as it sounds, Tom Jones is not the oddest of artists to appear on Third Man. In 2011, John C. Reilly, Insane Clown Posse, and Stephen Colbert all made appearances on The Blue Series. Head on over to the Third Man Records website to get a taste of the Blue Series.
