The classic Guided By Voices lineup of Robert Pollard, Tobin Sprout, Mitch Mitchell, Greg Demos and Kevin Fennell are making new muisc and you can get the first single “The Unsinkable Fats Domino” now.
“The Unsinkable Fats Domino” is the first single off of Guided By Voices new album, Let’s Go Eat the Factory. The classic lineup will be self-releasing the album on January 1, 2012. What better way to start 2012 off than with a new Guided By Voices album?
The classic Guided By Voices lineup hasn’t played together in 15 years, and the band played what was to be its final show in Chicago in 2004. It was not until 2010 when the band reunited and played Matador’s 21st Anniversary event. The classic lineup soon went on a tour and announced Let’s Go Eat the Factory. Pollard and company have been busy throughout the years, with Pollard leading several reincarnations of Guided By Voices.
The last album to feature the classic lineup was 1996’s Under the Bushes Under the Stars.
“The Unsinkable Fats Domino” is the A side of a 7″ and digital single set to be released on November 22, 2011. The single will also feature “We Won’t Apologize.”
