Converge entered GodCity studio, owned by guitarist Kurt Ballou, earlier this week to record their seventh full length album. According to the February 2012 issue of Decibel magazine the band’s latest LP, titled All We Love We Leave Behind, is scheduled for release in late spring/early summer.

The Salem, Mass. band formed in late 1990 and released three full length albums before writing Jane Doe, in September of 2001. The band’s fourth album, referred to as “a discordant, vicious classic that changed hardcore forever,” by Rock Sound Magazine has been awarded Album of the Year by Terrorizer Magazine and Album of the Decade by Sputnik Music. It also found a spot on our own Greatest Albums of the Digital Age.

The band also confirmed its presence on the Heavy Music Festival 2012 bill in Kent, UK via twitter earlier today. The festival will take place August 3-6 at the Port Lympne Wild Animal Park.
