CounterPoint Announces Inaugural Lineup in ATL

written by: on May 11, 2012

With Bonnaroo now less than a month away and all of us ‘starin’ at Coachella through our rear view,’ (a Pac pun with no hologram reference) festival season is officially underway. A couple of weeks ago, Atlanta’s Music Midtown dropped their 90’s rock and hometown hip-hop based line-up that will bring visor-wearing, coozie-carrying ex-fratters together with flannel-laden grungers turned stroller-pushing parents for 2 days in Piedmont Park. But, behind the scenes, the people behind Lollapallooza and Austin City Limits have been conspiring to put together a new experience unlike any other in festivals thus-far.

A vague press release a few weeks ago led to gossip and this week the line-up for the inaugural CounterPoint Music Festival just south of Atlanta, GA was announced, much to the delight of ravers throughout the Southeast, and all over the country. The three day festival will take place September 27-29th and will featuring an eclectic mix of electronic funk, epileptic-inducing performers and more home grown hip-hop. Bassnectar, Skrillex, Pretty Lights, Steve Angello, M83, Big Boi, Wale, Ghostland Observatory, Theophilus London and tons more will come together in the ‘Dirty, Dirty’ to launch a new experience for music fans everywhere. Tickets are now available so, if this is your bag, clean your tent off after ‘Roo and head down 75 again in September.
