Remember when music videos kicked ass? "Pearly Gates" is a gut-busting Americana punch to the face, and the accompanying video-slash-short-film fits like a leather glove. If you're the kind of person who (somehow) can't sit through a six-plus minute song despite all its twanging and trumpeting, the video's B-movie narrative is worth sticking around for.
