Yellow Ostrich – “Marathon Runner”

After releasing two albums in 2010, Yellow Ostrich grew into a three-piece and signed to Barsuk Records. Under its new label, the group will release its forthcoming album Strange Land, on March 6th. “Marathon Runner” is the album’s first single. If you’re familiar with the group’s previous material, you’ll notice tighter production and a larger palette of sounds on this song. But, where this song really shines is in lead singer Alex Schaaf’s fantastic voice and incredible storytelling ability, two things that could also make Strange Land one of this year’s best.
