Way Yes – “Important”

“Important” by the band Way Yes may be one of the most laid-back gripes you’ll ever hear. Its members are fed up with friends and family dodging their phone calls, asking, “What is so important that you have to do at home? What is so important that you can’t pick up your phone?” The whole song is pretty simple, featuring a consistent African drum beat, the occasional guitar, very few lyrics and waves of synth chords.
You can expect a similar sound and theme in Way Yes’s forthcoming Walkability EP, which will be released March 27. The band says it “hides heavy lyrical content under positive, tropical vibes.”
