Kandle – “Know My Name”
on February 15, 2012
Montreal based artist Kandle Osborne (aka Kandle) describes her style as indie swamp rock, blending dark southern blues with the sounds of 90’s alternative bands like Mazzy Star and Brian Jonestown Massacre. Influenced by her father Neil Osborne, lead singer of the Canadian band 54-40, Kandle started playing music at a young age. Before going solo, when only 16, she started a band called The Blue Violets with her sister Coral and friend Louise Burns.
Kandle released her self-titled debut EP last July, which is currently available for free on the artist’s Bandcamp page. The entire release was produced by her father and features Broken Social Scene’s Sam Goldberg on guitar. “Know My Name” is the slow burning opening track.
