Marguerito – “I Look To You”

The song “I Look To You” is a very rough cut from Marguerito’s recent mixtape release, 10 Stone Cold Gems From The Man In Beige. The band states, “the intention of 10 Stone Cold Gems was to release something that stripped down all bells and whistles and characterized it with reductive kitschiness and (at least the aim of) pure songwriting muscle.” During the less than two minutes song, lo-fi surf rock guitars jangle behind lead singer Jake Fertig’s carefree vocals. These guys take effortless to a whole new level, creating an acceptance of doing whatever whenever. It’s pretty exciting and actually kind of refreshing.
