Cat Power – “Cherokee”

As mentioned previously, Chan Marshall (aka Cat Power) will release Sun, her first album full of original songs in six years and ninth overall, on September 4th. The recently released single, “Cherokee,” is a thumping wave of emotion. In it, Marshall repeatedly sings, “never knew love like this,” and, “never knew pain like this.” On the surface, the emotions sit on different sides of the spectrum, but as you dig deeper they get blurred and intertwined.
