Radiohead: Doing Everything in 2011

written by: on March 28, 2011

They already gave us a killer album with The King of Limbs. Let alone the killer packaging that will be coming with the physical manifestation of that. What with books and full color photos and all the bells and whistles that will surely make the item well worth the $50 prepay everyone has already jumped on. But the band is doing everything. And, more than that, doing everything right and keeping everyone interested.

Tomorrow the free newspaper The Universal Sigh, will be available worldwide, coinciding with the release of the record. If you can’t wait (who can?) you can read the paper here. You can also check out all the locations near you to pick it up live and in person and in your hands here. On top of that, dudes are putting out an exclusive 12” for record store day on April 16 with UNRELEASED TRACKS! “Supercollider” and “The Butcher” will be on the record and will probably make you fall in love with everything all over again.

Radiohead are proving over and over again that bands can still be exciting and keep everyone satisfied and anticipatory. Why can’t more bands buck the system and be their own thing? (besides the fact that a lot of bands don’t have a successful two decades of built-in fans willing to follow them and blog about them, but, still…)

In case you’ve been under a rock (which would be awesome, right!?) King of Limbs is streaming at TBD Records along with the video for “Lotus Flower.”
