What’s not to love? You’ve got cool shoes, charity, trippy visuals and new Animal Collective tunes. Answer: nothing’s not to love. Last fall Animal Collective teamed up with Keep Sneakers to release four uniquely-styled shoes (one for each Collective member), the profits of which will go to benefit Socorro Island Conservation Fund, a charity to help preserve Revillagigedo Archipelago off Baja California. The shoes are pretty cool, and when you buy a pair, you will get a copy of this mixtape with a new song from each band member.
With the release approaching, Dave Portner’s (AKA Avey Tare’s) sister Abbey (AKA Drawlings), put together a neat little video preview for the project. Watch it below.
