Chicago tourism organization Choose Chicago recently decided that the city needed a new anthem to help bring visitors to the city. Of course, when thinking of signature Chicago acts to include the first ones that came to mind were Buddy Guy, the band Chicago and…Umphrey’s McGee. Not necessarily an all-star line-up, but hey, it could still be good, right?
Sadly, the answer is a resounding “no.” The three vastly different artists did not mix well, resulting in a muddled, tepid “anthem” celebrating this fair city. But that’s just our take. Give it a listen and let us know how you feel about “Chicago.”
