Charles Bradley may be old enough to be my father but he is certainly not the fatherly figure I’m looking for! Bradley’s performance was big enough to fill a stadium!  He is the former James Brown impersonator gone funk-filled star that some call the “Doctor of Love!”  He is all hip gyrations and bellowing soulful voice!

His band certainly knocked it out of the park, but this guy loves his job more than any of us could imagine.  Before he stripped off layers from his first costume, I was already convinced that he was in-it-to-win-it!  There are few 65 year old men that can pull off silver sequin-bedazzled pants and a cape, but Bradley did it with such conviction and zest that he exceeded all expectations!

If you missed this performance, you missed a great night for music in Chicago!
