I guess six years isn’t that long to wait. It’s hard to believe that is when 13 & God released their self-titled debut. There hasn’t really been anything since then that has sounded quite like it. The combination of The Notwist, Themselves and Subtle somehow forms a musical style that is equal parts each, but with surprising new feelings that pop out when all of these elements are combined.
The guys have been recording again, both in Sublte’s Oakland studio and the Notwist’s in Weilheim, Germany. The transcontinental result is Own Your Ghost, which will be released May 17 on Anticon.
