“Ballad of the Golden Hour” is a delightfully dreamy tune from Brooklyn duo Widowspeak. As Emilie Friedlander of The Fader put it, they sound like “a very self-conscious cross between Fleetwood Mac and Mazzy Star.” As shown in the album art, their personal styles seem to be influenced by Fleetwood Mac as well.
The guitar in this track is incredible, definitely influenced by producer Kevin McMahon, who has worked with Real Estate and Swans. It’s a really fun listen. The track is off Widowspeak’s forthcoming album Almanac
