Mesita – “Hostages”

Hostages

Mesita (James Cooley) describes “Hostages” as a “song about feeling frozen, paranoid, and absolutely scared of yourself.” It’s a little frantic at times, heartbreaking and beautiful. You hear his frustration peak in the chorus. Its dynamics grow and Cooley repeatedly sings, “Don’t say a word, and nobody gets hurt. Nobody gets hurt. Nobody gets hurt.” Instrumentally, the song is comprised of gentle piano and powerful synths and drums.

“Hostages” will appear on Mesita’s forthcoming album Future Proof, which will be released early 2013.
