Holy Esque – “Rose”

on April 5, 2012

Rose

If you are familiar with Billy McCarthy’s two bands, Pela and We Are Augustines, you will probably find a comforting familiarity in Holy Esque’s new song “Rose.” It’s kind of surprising, but the biggest similarity between the artists is in their uniquely ragged and fragile vocals. In the song “Rose,” frontman Pat Hynes sings over a dense layering of upbeat guitars, drums and bass, taking influence from post-punk and 1990’s alternative rock. If anything, this song should make you feel happy and excited to get outside and enjoy this beautiful spring.

Holy Esque will release its self-titled debut EP on April 23rd.
