Death Songs – “Ophelia”

The name Death Songs is a very literal portrayal of the music Nick Delffs plays, but instead of focusing on the darker side of death, he celebrates it (or more so the life once lived). “Ophelia,” for example, was written in response to a close friend threatening suicide and is essentially Nick’s call out to her. In it, his lyrics float around a folksy flamenco guitar melody and steady handclap. You can hear more of the band’s songs in their self-titled EP, which released 10/4.
