Dana Buoy – “Call to Be”

Today’s new genre: tropicore — the self-prescribed style of Akron/Family percussionist Dana Janssen’s new solo project, Dana Buoy. On May 8th, the artist will release his debut album, Summer Bodies. Janssen’s label, Lefse Records, describes it as, “a rhythmic and vibrant dedication to the joyous feelings of summer love, […] providing a sonic spaceship ride from the beach party to the after party.”
The lush and vibrant “Call to Be” is the album’s first single. Combining dream pop-like synths with a swift Afro-beat and sunny vocals, this track may just be the perfect pre-summer jam.
