A Lull – “Summer Dress”

on June 27, 2012

Summer Dress

Just yesterday, June 26th, experimental Chicago rock group A Lull released its new EP, Meat Mountain. And how perfect is the timing? Not only is this EP stacked with summer jams, on Sunday, July 15th, the group will be playing at the Pitchfork Music Festival (1:00 PM, Blue Stage). Make sure to grab a vinyl copy of Meat Mountain while you’re there.

As you will hear on lead track “Summer Dress,” the group’s sound doesn’t stray too far from its previous LP Confetti, but with the addition of a couple new instruments (saxophone, flute and cymbals) and some strategically placed holes in the group’s standard wall of noise, it has clearly been perfected.
